Irvin E. Nadler passed away July 28, 2015 at the age of 93.
Mr. Nadler was born in Strutyn, Poland on December 2nd, 1921.
He was put on a boat by his family as a young boy and arrived in
Ellis Island escaping the Holocaust. His parents Levi Joseph and
Genia Nadler and sister Lucy, died during the Holocaust. Coming with nothing,
Irvin became a successful businessman, philanthropist, and a pillar of the Jewish
community of El Paso. He founded the Regis Bernard Furniture Company and
served as its chairman throughout his life. He became very active at
Congregation B’nai Zion, helping with the dedication of its building on Cherry Hill Lane
and served as President of the synagogue for three years. He also was a Master Sergeant
in the United States Army where he was stationed overseas during World War II. His family
was the most important part of his life. He was a loving husband to Alicia who predeceased
him and a devoted father to Lee and his wife Sandy, Gary and his wife Lisa, Jacqueline and
her husband Robert, and to Marvin who passed away in 1980. Mr. Nadler was a wonderful
grandfather to Ashlei and Michele, Hayley and Madison, and Ava and Oliver. The family
wishes to thank Mr. Nadler’s dedicated caretakers Linda, Lola and Irma, Dr. Dwayne Aboud,
and Cima Hospice for their kindness and help.
The funeral will take place at Congregation B’Nai Zion,805 Cherry Hill Lane, Thursday July 30th at 10:00 a.m..
Interment will follow at Congregation B’nai Zion Cemetery.
