

Jack Driskell (Charles LeRoy Driskell) was born on January 4, 1938 to Anna Irene Fortner and Earl Wiley Driskell. He died peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2011, his favorite holiday, in his daughter’s home in El Paso, Texas. Jack, a native of Peoria, IL., joined the army at a young age and amid his assignments landed in El Paso and fell in love with the borderland which he adopted as his home. Jack loved traveling, having lived in Italy on assignment, and he was looking forward to his next trip back to Paris, his favorite city. He loved laughing and being a grandfather more than anything and was always there when you needed a hand, a shoulder, company…anything. Jack, Dad, Gramps – You left behind so many broken hearts. He is survived by his Children: Anna Mier (Genaro), LeRoy Driskell (Tirza), and Wiley Driskell. His Grandchildren: Genaro Jack Mier (Nicole), Carlos and Gabriela Mier, Diana Sutherland (Michael), Annakarina and Leea Driskell. His Great Grandchildren: Pilar and Annika Mier. His Siblings: Pat Smith (George), Shirley “Pug” Howell (Casey), Dorothy Kelso and Donald “Tubby” Driskell as well as his aunt Mae Daley and countless friends and family. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1551 Belvidere. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N.
