Jack was born and raised in El Paso, TX and graduated from Austin High School in 1973. He then joined the El Paso Police Department May 14, 1976 and retired April 17, 1999 as Lieutenant.
He was preceded in death by Carl Russ (Father), Josephine Russ Jancek (Mother), Lee Russ (Brother), and Patricia Robbins (Sister).
Jack will be missed by his sister Connie Buchanan, his son Joseph Russ, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He was always available to help any and all and enjoyed his lunches with friends, working on his cars, and playing with his dog Rusty. He was a simple man with few words, lots of wisdom, and a tough son of a gun. The family deeply appreciates all the warmth of friends sharing stories, all the love given to him throughout the years, and all the love given to us during this time.
Visitation for Jack will be held from 9:00PM to12:00PM, Monday, January 15, 2024 at Funeraria Del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer Street, El Paso, Texas 79904. Graveside service will follow at 12:30PM Monday at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 8700 Dyer Street, El Paso, Texas.
