He was a great friend, neighbour, and pastor

I am the mother of Adam David Brockington, son of James Edward Brockington , jr, born 1952.   Due to a death in my family I was not aware of the passing of retired pastor senior James E Brockington.   my belated sympathy goes out to all the family and love ones. Rev. Brockington, was my pastor when I lived in El Paso as a student of UTEP, and the generosity he showed as a leader was indescribable.  Rev Brockington had a heart of gold and was all about ministry and helping others.  

My heart aches at the thought of another soldier gone home, but we do know that his labor was not in vain. 

Rev. Brockington can rest easy because he worked for the day he would receive his crown. 

Rest in heaven, until we meet again!!!

My deepest condolences to the Brockington family, especially Rev. Russell and Sister Karyn Brockington.  I have missed visiting and serving communion to Rev. James Brockington, it was always a highlight of my First Sunday visits.  My last recollection of Rev. Brockington was assisting Deacon Harris in bringing him in the church (Shiloh Baptist Church) and helping him get back into car to take him home.  He was always so thankful and pleasant.  God bless and keep the entire family and give them his peace.

Rev Brockington was my pastor when I lived in El Paso and attended Friendship Baptist Church.  I will always remember  him as a very kind and helpful man of God. His infectious smile will always be remembered.  Until we meet again on the other side.  Job well done good and faithful servant!  You will be missed Rev Brockington.   RIH. Pastor Brockington has always been a blessing to us. He was our adopted Dad. We spent a lot of time together. We shared many special occasions and holidays together. Our children called him Grandpa. He was the only Grandfather our children knew. Both of our biological dads had passed away before our children were born. He was always there to help us when we needed help. He was a great man of God. He was our first official Pastor after we were Born Again in 1980. We will always remember the love he had for us. We Loved him as well. We will miss him but we know we will see him again.  He fought a Good fight , He finished the course, He kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7-8. We will always remember and Love You “Dad”.
