James Karam

Former Texas resident James T. Karam, 81, died July 21, 2021, outside his home in El Paso, Texas. Mr. Karam was born October 12, 1939, in Peabody, Massachusetts, to Thomas and Josaphina Karam before moving to El Paso Texas where he completed high school. Mr. Karam proudly served in the United State Army, completing a tour in Germany. Mr Karam returned to Texas after his last tour of duty. He worked in construction, eventually retiring to enjoy the rest of his days in the company of his good friends and family. Mr Karam enjoyed writing poetry, fishing, stamp collecting, hunting and was awarded a Golden Poet award in 1989. His other interests included reading, collecting coins and keeping in touch with his family who lived abroad. In his memory, a viewing will be held on Thursday July 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., Mercy Food from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. with the Mass at 11:45 a.m. at St Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church, 851 Thorn Ave, El Paso. He will be laid to rest at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with Military Honors. Mr Karam was a loyal friend to many. He will be sorely missed and always fondly remembered.
