James "Jimmy Romani" Vasilakis

James Vasilakis passed away Wednesday June 29th surrounded by his loving family. He was 90 years old.

He was a long time resident of El Paso Texas. James served in the Army during WWll from 1944 to 1946.

He was honorably discharged after his service. He was awarded the Bronze Star for valor, a Purple Heart

with an oak leaf cluster as well other commendations. James was in the entertainment industry after the

war traveling throughout the United States and Mexico performing as a leading man in film, a stage singer

and master of ceremonies. James transitioned into the automobile business in El Paso Texas and was

known to his customers as Jimmy Romani. James was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in El Paso Texas.

James is preceded in death by his parents Basilios and Evangelia Vasilakis, brother Charles Vasilakis,

sisters Despina, Sophia, Betty, Helen and Mary.

James is survived by his wife of 52 years Dora Vasilakis, his son Dimitrios Vasilakis of Medina Ohio,

his wife Rose Ann Vasilakis and their two sons, Nicholas James Vasilakis and Matthew Joseph Vasilakis.

His daughter Alexia Vasilakis of Scottsdale AZ, her husband Ray Mahar and her daughter Soffia Milan Montelongo.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday July 5th from 5 to 8 PM, Trisagion at 6 PM, at Martin Funeral Home West

located at 128 N. Resler Drive in El Paso, Texas 79912.

James will be interned at 10:30 AM on Wednesday July 6th at Fort Bliss National Cemetery

located at 5200 Fred Wilson Ave. Fort Bliss, Texas 79906.

Services officiated by the Very Reverend George M. Al-Dehneh.
