Jenny Erika Peterson

Jenny Erika Peterson, (nee Fischer) was born in Durlach, Germany in 1928. She passed away December 22, 2023 at the age of 95 in El Paso, Texas where she resided for the last 60 years. She was a loving mother, devoted Army wife and a talented dancer. Jenny had a big smile and outgoing nature and made everyone around her feel welcome.

In her early years, Jenny pursued her passion for dance and became a dancer for the German State Opera at the age of 14. She continued her love for the ballet until she married the love of her life, a young soldier named Richard Peterson. As an Army wife, she supported her husband's career with unwavering dedication. She was exceptionally proud of making her US citizenship in Boston in 1958.

During their time stationed in Hawaii, Jenny shared her love of dance by teaching ballet to young aspiring dancers. She also volunteered as a Grey Lady in the Army hospital when stationed in Germany. Later on, Jenny worked as a department manager at the Fort Bliss PX, but her home and family always came first.

Jenny is survived by her daughter Peggy Cuomo, son-in-law Tom Cuomo and many loving family members in Germany. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother and her beloved husband who passed away in June 2018. Her kindness and vibrant spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
