Survivors include his wife Virginia; his five daughters, Rebecca Pena, Alice Mgill, Rose Marie Apodaca, Sarah A. Esqueda and Sandra Apodaca. Fourteen grandchildren; Marisela, Orlando, Jasmine, Samantha, Desiree, Gracie, Claudia, Jackie, Isabelle, Danny Jr., Sebastian, Mia, Emiliano and Camila; and 10 great grandchildren. His brothers and sisters Willie Apodaca and Richard Apodaca, Priscilla Apodaca. He is predeceased by his mother Miquela Benavidez, Father Rafael S. Apodaca and sister Virginia Padilla.
Jerry spent most of his life living in El Paso and worked as a CDL driver for various companies that included, Greyhound, Frito Lay, Budweiser, and the EPISD Transportation. He joined the Army in 1964 and was honorably discharged in 1970. In 2006 he retired as an Assistant Forman from EPISD.
His love for old cars, dancing, oldies, and Tequila is what made him happy. A man full of life and willingness to help anyone, was the man that everyone knew. He loved his grandchildren so much they never left empty handed when they went to visit him. His sense of humor was one to never forget. He will greatly be missed!
A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday April 22, 2021 with visitation from 1PM to 5PM with a 3PM Rosary at Hillcrest Funeral Home 1060 North Carolina Drive El Paso, TX 79915.
