With deep sadness we announce the passing of Mr. Jesus “Chuy” Cazares, our father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, entering eternal rest on June 17th, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born Jesus Jose Cazares to Jose Cazares and Juana Martinez. He was born in a small mining town of Santa Barbara, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was the youngest of four children.
Jesus came to the United States in the early 1970’s to work for and achieve for a better life for his wife and stepson. Our lovely parents were married for 50 years until our mother’s passing on September 22, 2021. He was a hardworking man; a good family provider and he was a mentor and father figure to a few family members and close friends. He spent most of his life working with his hands as a talented carpenter, painter and even built small furniture pieces. A very skilled man who easily shared his knowledge to anyone who was eager to learn.
Jesus is preceded in death by his loving wife, Socorro, his parents, his brother, Antonio, his sisters, Josefina and Gregoria, stepson, Joel Rivera, nephew, Kyle Briones, and Carlos Castillo.
Jesus is survived by; daughter, Judy (Roger), son, Jesse; granddaughters, Rochelle, Chantelle, Diana, and Ava; grandson Roger Dean Jr.; great granddaughters, Italia, and Mireya; great grandson Santiago. He leaves behind his loving nieces, nephews, and many friends to keep his memory alive in their hearts.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2025, with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest West. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 400 W. Sunset Rd., El Paso, Texas 79912. Rite of Committal will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery, 4900 McNutt Rd., Santa Teresa, New Mexico 88008.
