Jesus Cortinas, 90, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Jan. 11, 2024. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas, proud Army veteran, Bowie High School graduate (Class of 1953), Teamster and the final surviving offspring of Prospero Cortinas and Carmen Rodriguez Cortinas. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary. Survived by sons Jesus Cortinas Jr. (wife Edna) and Robert D. Cortinas; daughters Irene Cortinas and Martha Cortinas Koester (husband Jay); grandchildren Sarah F. Olivas (husband Orlando), Daniel J. Cortinas (wife, Celeste), Stephanie M. Estrada, Ernesto J. Cortinas (wife Ietzy), Mia L. Koester and Amanda A. Cortinas; great-grandchildren, Orlando Olivas Jr., Destiny M. Martinez, Orion S. Olivas, Cailey M. Leos, Mason D. Cortinas, Riley D. Estrada, Jason E. Cortinas, Sloan L. Cortinas, Madeline B. Cortinas, Jerusalem R. Estrada and Allie R. Cortinas. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 22 at 5 p.m., with rosary at 6 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina, El Paso, TX 79907. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 1 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home with burial to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesus Cortinas Jr. and Robert D. Cortinas. Pallbearers will be Daniel J. Cortinas, Ernesto J. Cortinas, Orlando Olivas, Orlando Olivas Jr., Orion S. Olivas and Jay Koester.
