Joe Jordan "Pepe"

Our beloved Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather and Great Grandfather Joe Jordan lost his battle after a long courageous fight with COVID19 and other underlying medical issues on September 8, 2020. Joe was born on Dec, 22, 1933 to Felipe and Aurora C. Jordan. He was a proud Bowie Bear graduate and a die hard fan of the Washington Redskins. He served his country in the United States Army. Then afterwards he worked as a bus driver for El Paso City Lines then became a bus driver for EPISD for 27 years. He was an outstanding athlete in high school he played football and baseball and after that he played baseball with semi-pro leagues and got the opportunity to try out with St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Joe's strong Catholic faith prepared him for this journey to heaven. The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and doctors that provided wonderful care, special thanks to Dr. Valilis. This care gave his family more time with him. Friends and family are welcome for visitation on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Martin Funeral Home-East 1460 George Dieter from 5-9 PM with the rosary at 7PM. Due to COVID19 - Burial will be at a later date at Ft. Bliss Cemetery

My condolences to all the Jordan Family. I remember Joe from his days at El Paso City Lines and playing fast pitch softball for Local 1256. My father, Leo Sr., also worked at EPCL as a trolley/street car driver. We would go and see some terrific games at Paisano Park and I have some great memories of all those games. Joe was a terrific ball player. Rest In Peace Joe and thank you for all the great games and memories!

Joe was my mother Ida’s partner for the last 10 years of her life. He was a kind, gentle’, and caring soul who made the last years of her life better because he was in it. Too, he became part of our family. God Bless you Joe as you begin the next chapter of your spiritual existence.

To all the Jordan's Family, Our deepest condolences for the lost of such a beloved family man, our friend Pepe. We remember him as such a nice friendly man, with a smile always on his face. Tachi remembers him from school in La Bowie! He was always involved with sports and also as Frank and Josie Morales' brother. We live in St. Louis and whenever we visited El Paso, he came to see us at his sister's house. May the Lord bless him and may the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Enrique (Tachi) and Armida Morales, St. Louis, Missouri
