John Quincy Adams passed away on Saturday, August 31st, 2013, at the age of 99. John Q. was born in Wilkes County, N.C., on January 1st, 1914. A longtime resident of El Paso, Texas. John Q. had a successful career in Real Estate. He was active in many civic and social organizations: past President of El Paso Board of Realtors, past President of Alta Vista Optimist Club, past President of El Paso County Sheriff’s Posse, Coordinator of S.W. International Livestock Show and Rodeo Parade, life member of El Maida Shriners, life member of the Royal Order of Jesters, Past President of Crime Stoppers of El Paso. John Q. was an avid big game hunter, sport fisherman and he loved to ride his horses, Pedro and Leo. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, his wives Florence and Mildred, son James and grandson Bryan. Survivors include Marci Alires (Dennis), Mark Adams (Paulette) and Bryan’s widow Kim. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home West.
