
Mr. John Swinton Brown, II was born January 26, 1949 at Southwestern General Hospital in El Paso, Texas. He was the only child of John Swinton Brown and Grace Messenger Brown. He was lovingly called "Johnny" by his mother with whom he was very close. Before making their residence at 2400 Savannah, they lived at 812 Mississippi in Kern Place. John attended Crockett Elementary School as a child and finished his secondary education at Besant Hill School of Happy Valley in Ojai, California, founded in 1946 by Jiddu Krishnamurti and Aldous Huxley.
After high school, John returned to his hometown to attend the University of Texas at El Paso earning his Bachelors of Education degree. He worked as a teacher on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. John passed away on October 3, 2024 in Prescott, Arizona where he had lived for many years. He has neither survivors nor heirs.
John was a devoted member of the 5 Points Masonic Lodge and a 32nd Degree Mason at the Scottish Rite in El Paso, Texas. John was a supportive, loyal, and generous friend. He treated his friends as though they were close family sharing in their ups and downs. He will be greatly missed.
