John Leonard Ritter went home to be with our Lord and Savior on May 2, 2020 while residing in El Paso, TX. He was born on December 21, 1943 in Port Carbon, PA. John was a wonderful and loving father with a legendary wit and keen sense of humor. He was lion hearted and never afraid to attempt the unknown. We praise God for his life and thank Him for allowing us to love him for a short time and cling to our faith which comforts us as we know we will see him again soon.
John was a member of Gallaudet University’s class of 1969 and a graduate of Temple Deaf College (1984) and Liberty University (1989) where he earned a ThG in Theology and a BS in Pastoral Studies, respectively. He was a passionate minister for many decades and will be remembered by all as someone who was faithfully dedicated to the Lord. He was overjoyed to have founded the Deaf Prophecy Conference 20 years ago.
John was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Bonnie; mother, Geraldine Pittinger; father, Whitey Buscavage; step-father, Ernest Ritter; grandmother, Katherine “Kay” Wolfe; sisters Marsha Callaway and Patricia Brinker; and brother Fred Ritter. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Connie; seven children that he was extremely proud of: John (Jamie), Jonathan (Renee), Donnie, Matthew, Annie, Karlene and Derek along with seventeen precious grandchildren: Jonathan, Joshua, Kaitlyn, Kristian, Jacob, Sydney, Isaiah, Aydan, Nathaniel, Bryce, Dylan, Elijah, Rebekah, Isaac, Rylee, Kara and Levi; and his sister, Erna Harris.
