Johnny Cruz Sr., 81, passed away on August 6, 2026. Born on September 17, 1944, Johnny lived with steady courage, a deep devotion to those he loved, and a faith that helped guide his days. A resident of El Paso, Texas, he will be remembered with gratitude and respect by all who had the privilege to know him.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Rebecca Cruz; his son, Johnny Cruz Jr.; and his daughters, Teresa Cruz Lozano and Veronica Cruz Fierro. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the enduring example of loyalty and steadfastness he leaves behind.
Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915, on August 17, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will follow at Hillcrest Funeral Home on August 17, 2026, at 7:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 131 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907, on August 18, 2026, at 11:30 am. A Graveside Service will take place at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906, USA, on August 18, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
