He had an adventurous and fun spirit, leaving his home at a young age. His children enjoyed hearing him speak about all of his adventures.

While in Matamoros, Mexico, he heard the Gospel preached. It was then that the seeds of the Word of God were planted. He left for the United States, and while in McAllen, Texas he received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1971, which set him on a life of pastoral ministry.

In 1974, he enrolled in the Instituto Mexicano Bautista and graduated on May 5, 1978.

While studying in seminary, he met the love of his life, Concepcion Levario. They dated for around a year, and were married on September 9, 1977.

Their marriage of 43 years is a testimony of unconditional love. They were an amazing team which worked together in raising their children and in doing the work of the ministry.

In 1981, he was ordained as the Pastor of La Iglesia Bautista Sembradores, where he remained as pastor for 39 years.

He was a loving father, and a devoted husband. All of his children adored him, and look to him and his life as a guiding light for their own life. He did everything in his power to provide, and to take care of his family.

His goal was to lead his children and home in the ways of the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his children, Adan and Uriel Piña, and is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years Concepcion Piña, his children: Aaron Piña, Elide Lozoya (Luis), Gabriela Zamora (Alejandro), Jorge Piña (Naiely), Pedro Piña (Gloria), Uriel Piña (Mary), Lydia Piña, Eunice Piña, Daniel Piña (Jamie), and Joshua Piña, and 19 grandchildren

He loved Jesus Christ, he loved the Bible, he loved the Lord’s churches, he loved people, and he loved to preach Jesus!

He is remembered by his family and friends as a Christian, a faithful father, husband and minister.
