Jose Yanez, father to Deanna and Robert, and husband to Bertha Alicia for over 40 years, began his walk with God on September 1, 2026. His sudden passing has left his entire family and friends saddened by this loss, but our shared faith is strengthened knowing he is with God. He leaves behind years of service to the community as a counselor for students at Cathedral High School, which he provided until his recent retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army’s 2nd Infantry Division and a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his wife, children, son-in-law Adam and daughter-in-law Rosenda, his mother, brothers, and sisters.
The Rosary and visitation will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N Carolina Dr, El Paso, Texas, 79915, on September 11, 2026, beginning at 5 p.m., and the funeral Mass will be on Saturday, September 12, at 10am at Little Flower Catholic Church, 171 Polo Inn Rd, El Paso, Texas 79915 with interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery following the Mass.
