She was born in El Paso, Texas on February 26, 1931. Josefina graduated from El Paso High and received her degree in Fashion Design from the Kansas City Art Institute where she met her husband.
She married Don E. Derryberry on February 27, 1953.
Josefina had a career in management for the U.S. government in the Bureau of Reclamation. One of her very first positions was at the FAA drawing flight paths. She was a member of the Rochali Group at St. Matthew’s parish and volunteered to mentor at-risk students at Lincoln Middle School. She loved painting and gardening, spending time with her family and friends, and taking care of her dog Buffy.
Josefina is survived by her daughter Diana Razloznik (Tommy), her daughter Patricia Spitler (Jeff), and her son Michael Derryberry; her granddaughters Jaclyn Hawkins (Brad) and Nicole Ramirez (Rene) grandsons Kyle Razloznik (Christina), Ryan Razloznik (Shellie), Brian Razloznik (Hayley), and Sean Razloznik (fiancé Brittany Vice); great grandchildren Aiden and Harper Razloznik, Evan and Noelle Ramirez, and Reese Razloznik.
Services will be held at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N Resler Dr. on Friday September 17th at 5 p.m. Gathering at the Razloznik home to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
