Josefina Johnston Subia

Josefina Johnston Subia, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at the age of 90.

Born on April 10, 1936, in El Paso, Texas, Josefina lived a life defined by love, faith, family, and devotion. She dedicated her life to caring for and nurturing her children and grandchildren, who were the greatest joy and pride of her life. Her kindness, strength, wisdom, and unconditional love touched the lives of all who knew her.

Josefina is survived by her loving husband, Alfredo Subia; her daughter, Claudia Rosales and husband Aldo; her sons, Alfred Subia Jr. and Juan Ernesto Subia and wife Alicia. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Jasmine Rosales, Jordan Rosales, Joshua Subia, Elisa Subia, Sofia Johnston, Jesus Johnston, and Heather Johnston, all of whom brought immense happiness to her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jesus Alberto Johnston; her parents, Maria Santa Cruz Johnston and John James Johnston; her sister, Gloria Bustamante; and her brothers, Fletcher Johnston, Alberto Johnston, and Simon Johnston.

Josefina will be remembered for her generous heart, her unwavering dedication to her family, and the love she freely gave to everyone around her. She was deeply loved by many and leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and family unity that will continue for generations.

Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her memory will forever be a source of comfort, inspiration, and love.

Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.

Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915, US, on June 7, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a Rosary Service at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915, US, on June 7, 2026, at 6:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Santo Nino De Atocha Church, 210 S Clark Dr, El Paso, TX 79905, on June 8, 2026, at 12:00 pm, followed by a Graveside Service at Evergreen Cemetery East, 12400 Montana Ave, El Paso, TX 79938, on June 8, 2026, at 1:30 pm.
