Dear Maresca Family,  I am sorry to hear of the loss of your father.  I remember sharing the joys of your home in El Paso.  Your parents were such good freinds to my parents.  May happy memories console you.  Know that the Malone family will keep you in our prayers.

Never forget going to the Maresca house for the first time.  Had a date with Susan, so was already a little nervous.  What a gauntlet, first their was brother Chuck who gave me the third degree at the front door. After (passing the test) and gaining entrance, I was stopped dead in my tracks by Susan's 100 pound Doberman with her nose between my legs. Next, I met the big man himself, Papa Joe, who despite his size and tough demeanor, welcomed me with a friendly "How ya doing Hoss". Thus began a wonderful relationship with a wonderful man and a wonderful family. Words can't express how much Joe meant to me and how much he will be missed! God's speed Papa.

I was in California when I learned the news of Joe's passing.  Amy and I send our most profound condolence to you and the family.  Joe was a loving good man that always had a special smile for all of us.  May he rest in peace knowing that he touched many lives positively amongst us all.

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad though I agree he is in a better place and will be waiting for the rest of us when our time comes with open arms. I remember seeing him at church all those years when we were growing up. The pancake breakfasts and donuts and coffee after mass. He was truly larger than life and will be missed by all of us whose lives he touched. Hugs and prayers go out for all of you.

I am deeply saddened at the passing of Poppa Joe Maresca.  But at the same time, I'm smiling at the blessing and honor it's been to have him, and the rest of the Maresca family, as part of my life for over 35 years.  Poppa Joe was the first person I ever heard call me "Hoss," when I was still a teenager.  I'm pretty sure he invented that phrase.  And it was SO cool when I heard it.  Especially to hear such a Texan term of endearment spoken with a thick New York accent.   Today, I can not hear that word without thinking of him.  His big, gruff voice, the strong hand on my shoulder, the mischievous wink after telling a bawdy joke when the women were out of ear shot.

Poppa Joe was a business man, a family man, a Christian man, and a man's man.  He was, and continues to be, the heart and center of an amazing family.  Steve, who's been my best friend since 8th grade.  Susan, my partner in road-crime sprees.  Chuck who tried to teach me how to box in the back yard.  And Mary, who never let me go hungry, even after a "big breakfast".  I love you all so very much.  All of you, including Poppa Joe, have been such a pillar in my young, and adult, life.  I wish you nothing but peace, serenity, acceptance, and most of all, love.  My thoughts and prayers are with you, always.

Joe was a great friend and family man. We had a lot of great times together which I will always cherish. I will truly miss you Joe. My sincere condolences to Mary and her family in this sad time.

My heart now has an empty spot because my Brother Knight and friend of 31 years has left to be with his Lord and Master.  We still have Mary, Joe's love and best friend, and her shining countenance in our Knights family to enjoy and love. Joe Maresca, a/k/a "Uncle Joe" or "Hoss" to his extended family, was a great son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, and I was privileged to be his friend (and later his brother-in-law) since 1947 when he started dating my sister, Mary. He was a giant in our family, was much loved, and will be sorely missed, but remembered most fondly.

We have great  memories of a  happy, smiling Joe saying "good
morning",  and wishing us a good day.  The Maresca's, our  wonderful neighbors of 8 years, we miss so much, and now Joe is with our Lord.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you Mary, and your
