

Josephine (Chiqui) Rodarte Verosky passed away on May 19, 2013, a day shy of her 83rd birthday. A life-long El Pasoan, she was a graduate of Austin High School and the University of Texas at El Paso. Her love of books was expressed through her career as an elementary school librarian, most recently at Zach White Elementary. She will be especially remembered for her love of art, music and extensive turtle collection. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. John M. (Jack) Verosky, her parents Manuel and Josefina Rodarte, her sister Concha and an infant brother. Chiqui is survived by her three children, John M. Jr. (Cynthia), Melinda (Art), and Patty (Ian); seven grandchildren, Sara and Niels; Heather (Gary) and Gus “Cinco”; and Lauren, Stephanie, and Jocelyn; and two great-grandchildren, Bethany and Jacob. She is also survived by her nieces and nephew; numerous cousins and other family members; and her godchildren. A Celebration of her Life will be held for family and friends at a later date.
