Julia,
God looked around his garden and found an empty place
He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your sweet face
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest
With the help of his angels they flew you to your heavenly place
Gods garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best
He knew you were ill 
He knew that you would never get well on Earth again
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills too hard to climb
He closed your eyes and whispered “Peace be Thine”
It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
Our heartfelt condolences to your precious family. You will be dearly missed.

This picture says so much of who we are as neighbors and friends from the Dolan Barrio where I grew up.  These are my Compadres, God parents to Charles and Viki.  But my girls Jessica and Andrea adopted them as their own Nino's as well.  Next to them is my neighbor Julia their Mom and Julias's niece and lifetime caregiver.  It saddened me to hear today  that my neighbor Julia passed away. Being a Grief Minister I know what awaits her and that brings me so much joy.  But the little girl in me is saddened because the parents of my generation are now reaching their journey here on earth.  What stays are our memories of them.  My Mom and Julia developed a beautiful friendship even after their children were all grown up.  I remember calling my mother and asking her what she was going to do for the day and she would say going to Julia's.  I remember Julia for her gardening and my Mom and her going back and forth about how to best grow their plants especially that yerba buena.  I remember Julia calling my Mom to go get some Menudo or my Mom asking Julia for Menudo which Don Alfonso would make, so many stories like that.. I can go on and on...but the memory I have of her is when she decided to come visit my Mom to Dallas, mind you she was not a traveling woman, it took a lot of convincing to get her to travel.  I can't help and notice in the picture where my Mom is already in the mid stages of Alzheimers how she so much wants to recognize her friend and connect with her, because these kind of friendships stay in the heart you don't need memory.  Then I look at the picture of both of them and cant help but laugh because we know they are really happy.  We, who know these women, laugh because our parents always come out in pictures as if they were mad...lol...and we always say "no really they're smiling".  Julia you lived a long fruitful life and I'm glad you came to visit my Mom when you did.  I know it meant a lot to her and of course to us.  Ahora al jardín del Paraíso.🌹🎍

Julia, fue una gran mujer y le doy muchas gracias a Dios por aver podido compartir mi Vida con ella, su esposo, Alfonso, (En Paz Descanse). Por ellos, tengo una gran familia, Los Hernandez, Los Herrera's, Los Pedregon's y todos Los demas en Durango y Dallas TX.  Siempre tendre hermosos recuerdos de Julia y todo lo què iso por muchos familiares, incluyendo la mia. Muchas Gracias por todo, Julia, la quiero y la voy a extrañar mucho. En Paz Descanse.
