All of my thoughts and prayers for the family of Mrs. Boozer. She touched so many lives!
Karen Hampton Bailey
Irvin HS Class of 1988

Karen was my cousin and I have so many fond memories of her and her sisters and her mother, Aunt Florence, coming to visit us In Colorado or my sisters and mother and I going to visit their family in El Paso.  So much fun!  So much laughter!  Then, as we grew older, she and Tracey coming with their children.  I am sorry I never got to hear her preach as a lay pastor.  I was so happy to hear when she was certified in that capacity.  Even as a child, I loved hearing her banter with her sisters or her mother.  It was evident to me how much they loved and enjoyed one another.  And I was so happy to be a part of that family.  She never missed a step as she walked with her Lord here in this life, and walked right into His arms as He welcomed her to her heavenly home.  May we all follow her example.

Please accept my condolences for the passing of your sister.  I knew your Mother, Florence Propst, better than I knew Karen.  Because of Florence, I know that each of you were brought up with the best of guidance  and love one could know.  May the Angels watch over you and guide you.

Knowing Karen from Rusk Grammar School to TWC I've always thought she was one of the nicest people. She was an extraordinary cheerleader at Irvin, and in later life loved her children and her church. It was so good spend some time with her at Irvin '62's 50th reunion. Rest in peace my friend.

What a shock to learn of Karen's sudden passing!  My appreciation to Bryson for forwarding the information to me.  I have known Karen for over fifty years, first at Irvin and then at UTEP (where she was my little sister at ZTA). We were in each others weddings and managed to keep in touch through all the years; she was a very special person and will be greatly missed.

Ms. Boozer was a wonderful lady. She was my student council sponsor and we spent a lot of our senior year with her and in her office. She was always there to help us and would give us advice on everything.   She definitely cared about us and worked very hard. She will be greatly missed!

I will always remember Karen fondly from high school days at Irving H. S.  My sincerest condolences.

May the Lord receive the soul of my dear sister-in-law who was more like a sister to me for the last 25 years.  Praise her life, which was full of giving to her family, friends, and others.

I find it difficult today to think that in a few hours her friends and family will gather to celebrate her life--a celebration she didn't help plan, and whose only part will be to allow us to remember her sweetly. Karen was my oldest sister that nurtured and guided me from infancy until adulthood.  I feel blessed that I was able to visit her in March.  We had so many memorable times together, especially vacations with our mother and all of the children and then grandchildren.  Our vacations and visits were always filled with laughter.  As we grew older together, she was an inspiration to me with her calm demeanor and spiritual kindness toward others.  She now leaves me a living legacy of love of our Lord and love of family.  I will miss her deeply but I know that she is one of God's special angels now, continuing her work in the heavens above and guarding over all of us.  Goodbye, sweet sister.  We will reunite one day.

Mrs. Boozer was simply the best mother, grandmother and friend.  I was so honored to know her.  She was like a mother to me and I will always remember her kindness to me and all she taught me.  Always, one to make me laugh.  I hope I can be as good a parent and grandparent as she was.  I will always remember her.

Karen Propst was my student the first year I taught at Irvin.  She was smart, talented, pretty, and kind.  Those qualities served her well then and over the years.

That she remained at Irvin to serve those of her community, speaks to her committment.

Her children and grandchildren are fortunate to have had her for their parent, grandparent, friend, and mentor. 

She touched the lives of a great many, I am sure, and hers was a life well lived.

I will miss her.

My heart is heavy at the passing of Karen.  She was a very special woman.  Always with a smile and welcoming greeting.  I know her family, Church family and friends will celebrate Karen every time we share a memory of her.  Our hearts will find peace and comfort in the Karen stories and joy we share. I want to thank everyone for their kind words about my mother. We love and miss her, but know she is with our Lord and Savior now. She loved Irvin, her students, her friends, PW, studying about religions, reading, the beach, and especially serving others. Her calling was to serve. After she retired, she concentrated on caring for me and my family and serving others as we all should. She has been volunteering for several organizations throughout EP and beyond. My church family and friends have surrounded us with love. We will greatly miss her. She was a truly wonderful mother and grandmother. Love

I first met Karen when I became involved with Tres Rios Presbyterian Women and through the years she became a special part of my life.  I always looked forward to the time we could spend together at our PW meetings. A true inspiration and a blessing to all that knew her.  I will miss her smile and "special laughter". Kelly,my thoughts and prayers are with all of you now and in the days ahead.

I graduated with Karen from Irvin High School in 1962. I became better acquainted with her in the years following her graduation from UTEP. She was a lovely, caring person I was honored to know. I last saw Karen at our 50th class reunion which we all enjoyed tremendously. Thankful I have those memories.

Our family first met Karen and her family in Japan.  We later connected in Northeast El Paso as students at Irvin.  We just want to extent our sorrow with her death. The Ernest Vass Family.

May God Bless your family at this time of sorrow.  Karen and I had some wonderful times working with Tres Rios Presbytery Presbyterian Women.  She was such a joy in our working relationship and a wonderful person.  Just know that your Mom will still be with you in the wonderful memories you have of her.  We will miss her greatly.
