Kathy Ann Barnicoat, 74, of Santa Teresa, NM passed onto the Lord and was reunited with predeceased loved ones on Sunday, March 15, 2026. She was born in Denver, CO on January 30, 1952. Her family moved to Albuquerque, NM where she was raised and where she met and married Kenneth (Ken) Barnicoat on February 23, 1973. Kathy and Ken moved to El Paso that same year. She found work as a travel agent, where her love for travel helped her clients plan memorable trips around the world. In later years she found what she fondly considered her dream job as the retail manager for the War Eagles Museum. Kathy enjoyed interacting with visitors, staff and volunteers and participating in numerous functions with the flying community. She had a soft spot for the veterans and the vintage aircraft. This position provided her with the opportunity to fly in several WWII combat planes … experiences that she loved and took pride in. Her other interests included golf, boating, cooking and of course travel. Kathy and Ken had a home at Elephant Butte, NM and a cabin in Cloudcroft, NM where they split their time between lake and mountain activities. Kathy was a passionate animal lover who shared her life with her beloved dogs … often three at a time. She provided the love and care that many of her pets—including stray and rescue dogs—would not otherwise have had.
Kathy is survived by her brother Larry Sullivan and his wife Donna of Albuquerque, her nephew Sean Sullivan and his wife Lauren also of Albuquerque, and many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Ken and her parents Harley and Genevieve Sullivan.
Kathy’s passing has brightened heaven but left this world a little darker. She will be missed deeply by family and friends, but her memory will live on in their hearts. Her brother will especially miss the nightly phone calls, family trips and the sharing of memories with his beloved sister. For those left behind, we take comfort in knowing that it’s not “goodbye,” but simply “until we meet again.”
A memorial service will be held at Martin Funeral Homes, located at 128 N. Resler Dr, El Paso Texas on April 3rd, 2026, beginning at 10am.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Animal Rescue League of El Paso on behalf of Kathy at arlep.org.
