It is with heavy hearts that we regretfully announce the passing of Kelly Eileen Cano, 37, of El Paso, Texas. Kelly was born on November 16, 1987, to Raleigh Cano and Claudia Alexia Billmann-Cano. She was a beautiful green-eyed girl. She attended Silva Magnet High School (Class of 2006) to follow in her mother's footsteps in becoming a registered nurse. Kelly enjoyed playing and being a part of the volleyball and basketball teams. She continued to pursue her dream and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at El Paso in 2010. She successfully became a charge nurse at Las Palmas Medical Center in the neonatal intensive care unit, where she loved and cared for premature, high-risk, sick newborns and their families.
Kelly was a daughter, a sister, a niece, granddaughter, an aunt, a teacher, a mentor, a dear friend, and an overall social butterfly. She was known for her passion in nursing, intelligence, caring nature, and patience. Kelly’s silliness, joking behavior, contagious laugh, the ability to lighten any room with her presence. Her unlimited amount of support for those she cared about and to love infinitely with her whole heart, defined her.
Her kind-heartedness will be her legacy and will continue to motivate those around her as we remember the amazing person who devoted her life to caring for others and lifting those she loved. Kelly will be significantly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her and will be carried in their hearts and shared in their memories.
She is preceded in death by her loving mother and her Opa (grandfather) Kurt Billmann. She is survived by her father, her younger sister, Katherine, her brother-in-law Adrian Villela, along with her nephew, “Matty” and family and friends.
Visitation for Kelly will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a rosary at 3:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer St, El Paso, Texas 79904.
