Kevin was a dear friend of mine. Kevin knew how to be an honorable friend to everyone he knew. He was honorable even to his country. Kevin taught me how to be strong even through darkest of times, he reminded me that laughter can always help you find a way out even in the scariest of situations. Kevin lived fearlessly and I hope to continue life living the same understanding now how delicate life can be so also cautiously knowing he will always be by my side. Kevin was brave and carried god on his shoulder everywhere he went. I only pray that I can teach my son to be the same. One day I will tell him about a friend named Kevin, aka koala bear and how he changed my life by being one of the best friends I’ve ever had and how he never let the power of fear distract him. I only hope to be as brave as he was in this life. I will forever live on for you through god as we will meet at the pearly gates. In due time my dear friend. Tell god i said hello. Thank you for everything. It was an honor to know you. 

I went to basic training with Guardado back in 2016. We were two of the few hispanics that were there. He always had us laughing on our off time and he got us through some hard times physically and mentally! He was definitely a person to bring you up when you were feeling down. We were a team at basic and he always pushed us! I knew he was going to be great went he got to his duty station. I cant believe hes gone he was so full of life. And i knew him in an environment where people brought us down everyday so for him to be so high spirited says alot about who he was as a person. I send my condolences to his family! R.I.P Kevin!
