Chris was born in Las Vegas, NM to parents Alfonso Garcia Sr. and Ida (Hernandez) Garcia.
Chris was an Army dependent and spent most of his childhood abroad. He lived in Germany and Spain, where he met his lifelong companion and wife, Beverley. They were high school sweethearts and were together more than 50 years.
Chris was a Registered Respiratory Therapist for nearly 45 years, working across several El Paso area hospitals and rehabilitation centers, while also serving as a life support instructor for the American Heart Association. His dedication to helping others breathe easier stood as a daily testament to his character, earning him the respect of his peers and the enduring gratitude of his family.
Chris had a lifelong love for music, playing both the guitar and drums. As a teenager in Spain in the 1970s, he embraced that love by playing in a rock band. Chris approached life with a generous heart, cherishing his home and family, and always finding purpose in helping others.
Remaining to treasure Chris' memory are spouse, Beverley (Godwin) Garcia; children, Marla (Garcia) White (husband, Wade), Mike Garcia (wife, Kara), Ryan Garcia (wife, Dorothy), Gillian (Garcia) Moderow (husband, Taylor); grandchildren, Fiona, Jack, Billy, Wyler, Penelope, Theodore (expected); siblings, Loretta Martinez (husband, Ramon) Mony McDonald (husband, Greg), Vincent Garcia (wife, Teresa). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Preceding Chris in death are parents Alfonso Garcia Sr., Ida (Hernandez) Garcia; sibling Alfonso Garcia Jr. (wife, Meno, survives).
