Laurice was born in Kafaracca Koura, Lebanon to Rakib Matar and Salwa Assaf Matar on July 12, 1937. She immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 16, married Ferris “Frank” Ayoub, and had three children.
While a devoted mother, Laurice became a self-taught successful Real Estate agent, eventually building her own portfolio of investments and businesses that sustained her for many years in retirement. Much of her success was formed by her great determination, her inability to take “no” for an answer and her superior aptitude for details. She became the inspiration to many people who marveled at her great success.
Her immense pride and sense of fulfillment came from the satisfaction of raising her children to be secure and happy adults. Her greatest happiness came from her five beautiful grandchildren. Laurice was also passionate about her pets, gardening, and cooking. And a proud member of the Syrian American Ladies Club and Lebanese Club.
Left to cherish her memory are: her children, Irene Ayoub (Dean Pedon), Laura Keith (Gerald Keith), and Ferris Ayoub (Jacque Ayoub); grandchildren, Lauren Ayoub, Christopher Ayoub, Hannah Keith, Stephanie Ayoub, and Samuell Keith; siblings, George Matar of Lebanon, Hayat Jreirg of Lebanon, Miled Matar (Laure Matar) of Delaware, and Nabil Matar (Elene Matar) of New Jersey, as well as many more loving family members and friends.
Special mention and love to Angele Nabhan.
Much gratitude goes to caregiver Santos Albina.
Laurice was preceded in death by her parents Rakib and Salwa Matar, sibling William Matar, and by Frank Ayoub.
