Leslie Thomas Janik, was born on October 17,1946 in Cadillac Michigan. Les was called to be with our Lord on July 11,2026 at the age of 79. Les was a great husband, father grandfather, and great grandfather and brother.
He graduated from Cadillac High School in 1964. He was then drafted into the US Army in 1966 and after 10 years of service he made El Paso Texas his home. He married Rosa Sandoval (deceased) and together they shared 50 years of marriage.
He was employed by Southern Pacific Railroad for 10 years. After many years of working in the private sector, he retired and enjoyed the rest of his life doing what he loved the most … working on cars!!
Everyone in the neighborhood knew when Les was outside in his garage by the roar of the race car engines. At an early age, Les found his love for cars and the need for speed. Over the years, I would say he owned an abundance of cars and race cars.
Up until recently, he and his grandsons enjoyed going to car shows and attending out of town races. We feel like here is where he was the happiest, doing what he loved.
Dad, we will miss you immensely and please continue to watch over us.
Les is proceeded in death by his parents Clarence and Maxine Janik. His nephew Tom Janik, his wife, Rosa Maria Janik and his sister Susan Brinks.
Les is survived by his daughters, Paula Janik, Kelly Chavez (Joe) and Robyn Janik (Mike Lopez Jr); his six grandchildren, Christian, Justin, Brandon, Jonathan, Alexandria, Daniel Jr, and great granddaughter Leia Marie. Along with many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. He is survived by his sister, Mary C Janik, brothers Danny Janik (Cathy), Paul Janik (Julie) and brother-in-law Steve Brinks.
