Lilia G. Escandon

Lilia “Lily” G. Escandon, 87, joined our Lord on November 10, 2024. She was born in El Paso, Texas on September 12, 1937. Lily grew up in the Chihuahuita neighborhood and attended Bowie High School. She was a lifelong resident of El Paso and worked as a beautician until she retired in 1999. She was preceded in death by her parents Salvador Gerardo and Augustina Gerardo, and her brothers Salvador and Arturo Gerardo. She is survived by her brothers Ernesto and Louie Gerardo, her sister Martha Zaldo, her daughter Patricia Rohena, her son-in-law Raymond Rohena, her Grandson Raymond A. Rohena and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family for the love, kindness and understanding she provided all her life. We would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Suresh Antony and Dr. Luis Salayandia for all the years of care they provided to Lily. We also express our heartfelt gratitude to Hospice El Paso for the care given to Lily and the care they extended to our family during Lily’s last days.

Visitation and Rosary will be held from 5:00pm-9:00pm on December 6th, 2024 at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. Funeral Mass will be held from 10:00am-11:00am on December 7th, 2024 at Saint Joseph’s Church, 1315 Travis Street, El Paso, TX 79903 and internment will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Road, El Paso, TX, 79907, immediately following the Mass.
