

Lois Ann Kaip went to be with The Savior on Monday, November 7, 2011 at the age of 80. She was born October 3, 1931 in Detroit Michigan. After receiving her Bachelor's Degree in journalism with a minor in music from Wayne State University, Lois worked for the Kresge Corporation, the forerunner of K-Mart, as their public relations publicist. She then went with her husband for nearly a year to Korea where their first child was born.
Upon their return to the States, the family moved to El Paso, Texas in 1961, where Lois, while raising her four children, still took time to be active in her community. A love of art inspired her to complete a degree in Fine Arts at UTEP in 1986, and she was a supporter of both the El Paso Museum of Art and the El Paso Symphony.
Active in her church, Lois served as head of the church thrift store, The Bargain Box, and later as Junior Warden. Prior to her passing, she was an active member of the church choir and supporter of The Gateway Mission Training Center, and the El Paso Rescue Mission.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde M. McGuffie and Jessie May (Mary) McGuffie. Survivors are her husband of 52 years Sherwood Kaip; her brother Clyde William McGuffie; sons Douglas, Galen, and Darryl Kaip; daughter Laura Lee Woodward. Lois' grandchildren are Sarah Ann Deines (and husband Gerrit), David, Thomas, Adam, and Mary Elizabeth Woodward; Levi and Dallas Ann Kaip.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Clement, 810 N. Campbell St. at Montana. Officiating will be the Rev. Bill Francis. Pallbearers are: her husband, Sherwood; her brother, Clyde; sons, Douglas, Galen, and Darryl; son-in-law John; and grandsons David and Levi. Honorary Pallbearers are grandson, Adam; grandson by marriage, Gerrit; nephews Alex and Phillip, and Beto Boggiano. . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gateway Mission Training Center through the Church of St. Clement. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery, Santa Teresa, New Mexico. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N.
