

He moved to El Paso in the late 1930's. He worked and retired from Phelps Dodge Refinery. He also met the love of his life Betty Jean here in El Paso. They were united in marriage on April 19, 1959 and they shared their life together in Central El Paso for over 55 years. He and his wife owned and operated Busy Bee Janitorial Service for over 25 years.
He joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the late 1950's and served faithfully as a Deacon & Trustee and worked in various other capacities within the ministry for over 40 years until his health failed. He loved fishing with his wife, brother Sam and son-in-law Hubbard. He truly enjoyed working in his home workshop and loved showing everyone his new tools. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #244.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sammie and Elizabeth Wren, his loving wife Betty Jean and his siblings Ida Lee Williams, Irene Wallace, Mack Wren, and Sam Wren. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters Estelle W. White and Frances E. Dickson; daughters Betty L. Golden, M. House, and D. Jackson; grandchildren Terry Golden, Isaac Golden, Yaisa D. Hallback (Eric Sr.), Tawnee House, S. House, R. House, and Keith Jackson; great grandchildren; a host of over 200 nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday June 3, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Kaster-Maxon & Futrell Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday June 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow Funeral Service at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
