Lucinda Eleta Hines passed away peacefully in her sleep at 7:20 p.m., on April 6th, 2015. Lucinda was born on January 25, 1945 in Colón Republic of Panamá. Lucinda represented the matriarch among her brothers and sisters, as she was the oldest of eleven maternal siblings, and six paternal siblings who referred to her as their “Queen”. She attended Colegio Abel Bravo in Colón Rep. of Panamá, and later graduated from Colegio Nocturno de Comercio in Panamá. She worked as a bookkeeper for AAFES in Panamá and later at Ft. Bliss.
At the tender age of 13, Lucinda was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist faith where she met Henry Hines, who later became her husband of 50 years. Lucinda is survived by her life-long husband partner, and friend Henry Hines, Son Dionisio Hines, Daughter-in-law Rosa Hines, Daughter Yecenia Hines O’Neal, Daughter-in-law Diane Blanquez; Grandchildren: Eddie Hines, TaShan O’Neal, Melissa Hines, De’Von O’Neal, two Great-grandchildren, and an extensive number of relatives and friends. Lucinda was preceded in death by her Mother Gladys Isidore, Father Roy Glasgow Sr., and her Brother Virgil Glasgow.
Lucinda was a devoted wife, an outstanding mother, a loving sister and most importantly a dear friend to her family, as well as those she encountered throughout her life journey. Characterized by a joyful disposition, one could always count on her to shed a ray of light during our darkest days. We will forever miss her beautiful smile and the savvy words of encouragement she dutifully shared with those around her.
Lucinda Eleta Hines has been removed from us in the flesh; yet, her enchanting spirit inspires us to rejoice at the knowledge that she has gone to rest in favor, with our Lord and Savior. Lucinda will live on in our hearts and actions from here forward!
