Luis Vela, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, at the age of 92. He was born on September 15, 1933.
Luis was a hardworking man who began working at a young age and carried that strong work ethic throughout his entire life. He spent many years working in construction, where his talent, determination, and ability to fix just about anything earned him the reputation of being an all-around handyman. There was very little Luis could not build, repair, or create with his own two hands. He was naturally talented, crafty, and took great pride in his work.
One of Luis's greatest passions was art and painting. His creativity and talent were recognized by the local newspaper, which featured an article celebrating his artwork. His ability to turn simple materials into something beautiful was a reflection of the creativity and care he brought to everything he did.
Beyond his many talents, Luis will be remembered most for the love he gave to his family. He was a caring and devoted man with a strong sense of humor who could bring laughter and joy to those around him. He was an outstanding father and a loving grandfather who cherished his grandchildren dearly.
Luis shared 66 years of marriage with the love of his life, Soledad Adame Vela. Together, they built a life and a family filled with love, hard work, laughter, and countless memories.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jose Luis Vela, and his wife, Soledad Adame Vela.
Luis is survived by his daughters, Martha Vela and Veronica Vela; his grandchildren, Alejandro Rodriguez and Magaly Fuller and her husband, Devin; as well as extended family and friends who were blessed to know and love him.
Luis leaves behind a legacy of hard work, creativity, laughter, and above all, love. His hands may no longer be here to build and create, but the things he made, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave his family will live on in their hearts forever.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
