Lyla Faye Johnson passed from this life on September 25, 2022. She was the only child of Fred and Edith Anderson of McKinney, TX. She attended UT-Austin where she met and married her husband, J Gordon Johnson. They moved to El Paso where she worked for El Paso Natural Gas Company for over 25 years before retiring. She was a member of Chapter AJ PEO, Trinity-First United Methodist Church, Discover El Paso, and the Tom Lea Institute. Faye was preceded in death by husband Gordon in 2006 and son Jerry Johnson in 2019. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Charlotte Johnson of El Paso, grandsons Wayne Johnson of El Paso, Russell Johnson and wife Kristi of Austin, and Ryan Johnson of Ft. Worth, and great-grandchildren Delaney and Angie Johnson of Austin. The family gives special appreciation to her long-time housekeeper and caregiver Nellie. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made directly to the El Paso Symphony and El Paso Opera. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with Prayer Service at 11:30 a.m., Reception at 12:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home West followed by interment at 2:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery where she will rest in peace beside Gordon.
