On Thursday, April 21, 2016, Lyndee Jo Ward, 66 years old, went home to be with Jesus. The first-born daughter of Raymond and Sally Ward, she grew up in El Paso, attending Coronado High School, where she was an avid athlete and cheerleader. She raised her daughters and spent much of the adult part of her life away from El Paso, residing in the Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Austin areas. A strong and independent woman, she was never afraid to try anything new that sparked her creativity and passion for life and for her Savior. She was a bookkeeper, a guitar player, an exercise and Bible study teacher, a rancher, a tennis player, a swimmer, a writer, a seamstress, a lover of the outdoors and nature, and most importantly a daughter of the King. She is preceded in death by her mother Sally Patricia and her father Raymond Calvin Ward. She is survived by her siblings: Ron (Ray) Ward, Sheri Hamilton, Sally Bracy, Charles Ward, Elenore Gay, Betsy Heider, Patricia Kemp and Lisa Rossi , by her daughters: Bonnie Talamantez and Lisa Schlinke,her sons in law Raymond Talamantez and Gunnar Schlinke and grandchildren: Cheyanne and Cameron Schlinke and Grant Talamantez.
In 2009, she returned to El Paso to be near family and to fall in love again with the rugged desert and mountain landscape of her childhood. She ran to meet her Father’s embrace, and Heaven is now her place of dwelling.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 27th, from 2-4 pm, followed by a service at 4:30 pm at Martin Funeral Home West.
