

He was born on May 26, 1958, in Patna, Bihar, India, to a Rajput family. He was the son of the late Dr. Dharmdeo Narayan Singh and Reva Kumari Singh. Madhurendra spent his childhood in India before growing up in Charleston, South Carolina, and Nashville, Tennessee. He earned his undergraduate degree from Belmont College in Nashville and later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
He is survived by his two sons, Shiladitya Singh and Akshayraj Singh; his two brothers, Heramb Kumar Singh and Vinayek Kumar Singh; his nephews and niece; and his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Madhurendra possessed a sharp intellect and an exceptional memory, particularly for history, politics, and current events. He enjoyed thoughtful discussion and could recall details and events with remarkable precision. His curiosity and broad knowledge left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
A Hindu funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest West, 5054 Doniphan Drive, El Paso, Texas 79932, with cremation to follow.
His family remembers him with respect and wishes him peace.
