On Thursday, September 19, 2019, Magdalena Balcorta, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at age 82.

Magdalena was born on May 29, 1937 in Villa Lopez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Asuncion and Mercedes Rivera. She married Antonio Balcorta on August 15, 1955, at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church in El Paso, Texas. She was a compassionate caregiver, working in home health as a CNA/Provider for 20+ years.

Magdalena was preceded in death by her two children, Antonio Balcorta, Jr., and Monica Balcorta, and brothers, Apolonio Rivera and Rosendo Rivera. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Antonio Balcorta; her children, Evangelina Carrasco and Miguel Angel Balcorta; her grandchildren, Arturo, Antonio, Noah, Sarah, Monika, Marie, Nicolas and Desiree, and 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Magdalena will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, Texas 79912. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 602 S. Oregon St., El Paso, TX 79901, followed by a graveside service at 12:30 PM at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, TX 79915.

It was a long time ago but all the Nana, Tata the family would get together for birthdays. Elena was the sweetest aunt and she loved to cook for us which was great. We have many memories that will never die. I love you all and am praying for you.
