Manny returned to innocence March 15, 2025. He was born at Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi to parents Manuel and Ophilia Avila. He proudly served in the United States Army for 12 years and was a Desert Storm Combat Veteran. After his military service, he found other ways of serving his country; he joined the INS/US Marshals Service as a Flight Aviation Officer from 1992-2002. He also joined Immigration and Customs Enforcement from 2002-2017 where he retired as a Supervisory Detention and Deportation Officer. He was an El Paso resident since 1991 when he returned from his army tour in Germany. He was always the life of any party and had a tremendous love of music and famous loud style. He was a DJ for many years in his youth and was known as Disco Manny in high school. He remained the best DJ at any party he was at. His favorite hobbies were being with his family, old classic cars, and Ford Raptor Trucks. He is preceded in death by his mother Ophilia. Survived by his wife Ana Avila, father Manuel Avila, mother Leticia Avila, sons Ricky Avila, Aaron Mireles, daughters Vanessa Vu, Jessie Avila, Angelique Mireles, grandchildren Angel Avila, Nehemiah Vu, Joel Andres Mireles, Dahlia Love Mireles, Henry Soria Gonzalez, brothers, and sisters as well a host of family, extended family, and friends. The Avila family wants to thank Funeraria Del Angel, family, and friends for all the love and support during this difficult time.
A visitation for Manuel will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest West, 5054 Doniphan Dr., El Paso, TX 79932. A prayer service will occur Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 5054 Doniphan Dr., El Paso, TX 79932. A graveside service will occur Wednesday March 26, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave., El Paso, TX 79906.
