Our dear Uncle Nene was the most special person that really touched our lives.  He was a second father to Bobby and always had a listening ear and good advice.  They would talk and share Bible scriptures to encourage each other.  We will never forget when he came to our new home and helped us lay tile.  He was always happy and smiling and a joy to be around.  He had a wonderful wife too, Pepa was equally as special.  She made our wedding cake with pineapple filling it was delicious.  They will always be in our memories and in our hearts.  We are sending the family our love and many hugs.  You are all in our prayers. 

I still remember your first Army furlough from Korea. I was only 6 years old, We were a dance party with Pepa, I saw a soldier walk in the doors and I run to the doors, Papa yell where are you going I yell its Mensaje jump in his arms.I will never forget the look on Papa's face. Thank you for always being there for me and my family. Love and Miss both💔

We are all God’s children but none of us are perfect. But in the eyes of a young boy, Tio Nene was a giant of a man. I felt there wasn’t anything Tio couldn’t do. Tio always took time to play with us and whenever we had a working tv, he would sit and explain the game of baseball to me. He once took me to Dudley Field to see an exhibition game between the Giants and the Red Sox. He told me that #24 was the greatest player of all time. Willy Mays went up to bat in the 1st inning and hit a home run. I looked at Tio with my eyes wide open and knew I was a Giant’s fan for life. Every time I went to go see them play, I thought of that very special day with my Tio. When I finally joined a Little League team at age 9, I couldn’t wait to tell Tio. He asked me what position I was going to play and I blurted out 1st base. He knew I didn’t have a glove so he took to buy me one. I proudly played outfield all season with my 1st base glove. I still have that glove 59 years later. Many years later when I was playing on a softball team in SF, Tio came to see me play. After the game I introduced him to our coach. He looked at Tio and asked him if he wanted to join the team. Mind you, I was the oldest player on the team at 25 years old. Tio just laughed and told him he lived in Texas. There was never any doubt who the Godparents of our first born were going to be. My Tio and Tia gave me so much Love, I knew my son would be in good hands in their care should it be necessary. I was blessed to have known and loved my Tio, Compadre and friend for life. Until we meet again, may God bless both you and my Tia. Love you both dearly.
