Manuela Silva Calzadilla

Manuela (Nellie) Silva Calzadilla was called to Heaven on July16, 2016 at the age of 88. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, the heart of our family with a beautiful smile. A lifelong member of San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and felt honored to be a Guadalupana. A remarkable multi-talented, self-sacrificing mom; she loved poetry, reading, gardening, all styles of music, and dancing. Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jose J. Calzadilla; parents, Victoria Cacho, and Thomas C. Silva; siblings, Antonio Silva, Margarito Silva, Juanita Arellano, and Guadalupe Silva. She is survived by children Yolanda Irene Oliver, Patricia Rodriguez, Jose Jesus Calzadilla Jr; Gloria Calzadilla Baltazar, Ricardo Calzadilla, Carlos Calzadilla, Jaime Abel Calzadilla; 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Maria Elena Silva, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Jose J. Calzadilla Jr; Ricardo Calzadilla, Carlos Calzadilla, Jaime A. Calzadilla, Gilbert Oliver, Rudy Frescas. Honorary Pallbearers: Jose M. Baltazar, Jose Jesus Calzadilla III, Christopher Oliver, Daniel Rodriguez, Matthew Oliver, and Anthony Calzadilla. Visitation will be Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 5:00 to 9:00pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina, with Vigil Service at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be Friday, July 22, 2016 at 9:00am at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church with Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
