

Margarita P Figueroa, from El Paso, Texas, passed away after a brief illness June 14, 2022, at the age of 79. Margarita, “Margie” as everyone knew her was born on April 27, 1943, to George Parada and Dolores Alarcon Parada in San Elizario, Texas. She attended Ft Hancock High School and El Paso Community College. Margie touched many lives though her various employments, city sports that she played or coached, groups she belonged too and just daily interactions through out her day. She spoke to anyone if she knew them or not just striking up a conversation. Through Margie’s career her jobs were that of being of service to others. Her time as a Coach at St Pius Catholic Church, impacted many lives and to this day many of her players and have kept in close contact with her. She loved “her girls” as she called them. At the age of 55, Margie fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a Flight Attendant. When she graduated High School, the airlines had a height stipulation which prohibited her from being hired. After raising her family, which was her greatest joy, she was hired on the spot by America West. Margie worked for 18 years as a Flight Attendant. She was known as the burrito and tamale lady and for packing up several individual trays of green chicken enchiladas for her flight crew and flight deck. Margie was always ready and willing to share a meal and/or recipes with others. Due to various merges, Margie work for America West, US Airways and retired with American Airlines. Margie met her husband Robert Figueroa (+) and went on to have three amazing and wonderful children Robert Jr. (Lore), Christina (Toney) and Jorge Sr. (Brenda).
Margie was predeceased by her husband Robert Figueroa Sr, parents Jorge and Dolores Parada her sisters Josefina, Gloria, and, brothers Guadalupe, Julio, Antonio. Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Julian (Elsa), Jaclynn (Mick), Ari, Jorge Jr., Maya, Angelina, Brittney (Josh), and her great-grandchildren, Zenani, Zakiya, Zamika and Leilani. Her brothers George Jr, Eddie, Lucky, Banny, sisters Marti, Elena, Concha, Alicia, various nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Monday June 20 th , visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home East at 1460 George Dieter, El Paso, Texas from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm. Tuesday, June 21 st , Mass will take place at San Elizario Mission at 8:30 am with burial to follow 1556 San Elizario Rd., San Elizario, Texas
