María Dolores Bustamante was born May 8, 1960 in en Navojoa, Sonora, México. She was preceded by her parents Enrique Bustamante Limones and Antonia Morales Ortega. She married Antonio Cano in El Paso, and had five children: Steven (Jessica), Claudia (David), Anyra (Carlos), Jessica y Maridol (Gamaliel).
God blessed them with three grandchildren: Gabriel Cano, Azalea Cano, Emilia Salazar. She worked as a preschool teacher from 1991 to 2012. She always encouraged her children to pursue higher education and to be good members of their communities. When she was about 20 years old when she came to know Jesus as Lord and Savior at Northgate Baptist Church in El Paso, with the help of the missionary Mrs. Elliot. She was a member of Northgate Baptist until the year 2000, when the family joined Iglesia Bautista Internacional, pastored by Pastor David Fajardo. She served God in several ministries, and had a special passion for working with children. Maria sang in the church choir, made hospital visits, and recently served in the church’s ministry to the elderly. Maria Cano went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 29, 2019.
