Maria D. Hernandez, 72, of El Paso, Texas was called home on 01/04/2026. Born in El Paso to Perfecto & Elfida T. Barrientos. She was a lifelong resident of El Paso and attended Ysleta High School and Our Lady of The Valley Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by husband Humberto Hernandez Sr.,parents Perfecto & Elfida Barrientos, brothers Manuel Barrientos, Andres Barrientos, and Ruben Barrientos.

She is survived by her children Humberto Hernandez Jr. Norma J. Zamudio, Jose R. Hernandez, Paula M. Alvarado, Adrian A. Hernandez, Melissa I. Hernandez, Alexander Cortez. Also survived by her eight grandchildren, Kayla Hernandez, Noel Hernandez, Samuel Hernandez, Priscilla Hernandez, Sofia Hernandez, Jacob Alvarado, Joshua Alvarado, and Jessica Zamudio. She leaves behind sisters, Virginia Peralta , Irene Arnold, Rosario Archuleta, Gloria Barrientos, Graciela Flores, Magdalena Barrientos. Brothers Rodolfo Barrientos and Robert Barrientos. Services as follows; visitation and rosary on 01/14/2026 at Hillcrest Funeral Home and funeral mass service Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church with interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery on 01/15/2026.

Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home, located at 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas, 79915, on January 14, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will take place at the same venue on January 14, 2026, at 7:00 pm.

The Funeral Mass is scheduled for January 15, 2026, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, located at 8600 Winchester Rd, El Paso, Texas, 79907.

A Graveside Service will follow on January 15, 2026, at 11:30 am at Mt Carmel Cemetery, located at 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX, 79907.
