Maria Dolores Herrera, affectionately known as Lolita, was born on April 5, 1936, and peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 8, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family at home. Lolita is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Placido Zaragoza, her devoted husband of 40 years, Isaias Herrera, and her siblings Elisa Garcia Zaragoza, Maria Reyes Bustamante, Manuel, Heriberto, and Carlos Zaragoza.
Lolita's legacy of love continues through her daughters Berty (Carlos) Magaña and Lori Herrera, her grandchildren Gabe, Eric, Sammy (Xochitl) Magaña, Luis, Alex (Vanessa), and Sonia Vazquez, and her eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Ramon Zaragoza, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Born in Saucillo, Chihuahua, Lolita spent her early years in Las Alvareñas, with her devoted parents and siblings. She attended Business School and later worked at a fashion store in Delicias, Chihuahua, commuting by bus. It was on these commutes that beautiful and stylish Lolita caught the eye of a handsome, green-eyed bus driver, who persistently pursued her until leading to a long-lasting romance and marriage. They lived in Durango and Mexico City before settling in El Paso, where their daughters, Berty and Lori, were born and raised.
Lolita worked tireless inside and outside her home, while prioritizing her family’s well-being, maintaining an immaculate home, and delighting everyone with her exceptional cooking. Known for her friendly and cheerful nature, many nieces and nephews lovingly called her "Mami Lola." Her heart always had a special place for small children, and her joy was unmistakable whenever she was around them, especially in her later years.
