Maria Elena Lopez who was also fondly known as "Nena" was born on February 8th 1930 to her late parents Frank and Herlinda Hernandez. She peacefully passed away on July 29th 2024 in El Paso, Tx with family by her side.
Nena had worked retail at JCPenney downtown location for over 30 years. One of Nena's favorite pastimes was playing and volunteering at the Bingo halls. You could find Nena and her late husband Tony at the bingo hall, whether it was playing the game, working the booth or calling the numbers. Nena and Tony were well known and loved in the bingo community. Nena was also one of Dallas Cowboys biggest cheerleaders. She enjoyed rooting for her favorite team in her best Dallas Cowboy attire. She was known to call you after a winning game shouting "How 'bout them Cowboys!".
She is survived by her loving daughters and son in law. Aida Holguin and Herlinda E. Ramos, spouse Efrain Ramos. Grandsons - Efrain Ramos Jr. and Edward Omar Ramos. Granddaughters - Rosie Miranda, Ebby Lin Herrera, Erica Marie Ramos and Sonia Yvette Holguin. Sister - Maggie Martinez. and Thirteen amazing grandchildren.

Nena will be reunited with her beloved husband Antonio J. Lopez. She will be dearly missed but always remembered for the love she shared and the light she brought into this world.
A Visitation for Maria will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 from 8:00am to 10:00am at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest West, 5054 Doniphan Drive, El Paso, TX 79932, with a Rosary beginning at 9:00am. A Graveside Service will follow at 10:30am at Restlawn Memorial Park, 4848 Alps Dr, El Paso, TX 79904.
