10/28/1944 - 02/10/2026
Maria Del Carmen Loya, lovingly known as "Minnie" went with the Lord peacefully at the age of 81 on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 in her home in El Paso, Tx. She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother in law, sister, aunt, and friend.
Carmen was born and raised in El Paso, Tx. (La Calavera) She lost her beloved mother, Vicenta Delgado at the age of 12 and was brought up by her father Miguel Delgado (worked for 44 years in ASARCO) and her siblings. She was the baby of eight sisters and one brother.
Carmen was survived by her three children: Veronica Roman, Juan Manuel Loya Jr. (Stella), and Gabriel Loya, eight grandchildren: Darleen Loya (Jorge), Luis A. Roman Jr. (Alejandra), Josh A. Roman (Kiara), Juan M. Loya III, Abe A. Roman known as Jim Jim (Sebastian), Bernice Loya, Celeste A. Roman (Gamaliel), and Zuri A. Roman, two great-grandchildren: Juan M. Loya IV and Elise Roman.
Despite her medical challenges she still enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She lived a full life and always surrounded by love ones. Minnie remembered everyone's birthday and ages. She always had fruit on her table and cut watermelon and cantaloupe in her fridge. She loved taking care of her grandchildren, traveling, eating delicious food with her Coca-Cola, shopping, watching live mariachi bands, going to casinos, working on word puzzles, going to the movies and eating popcorn with lots of butter, watching the Voice, taking care of her plants known as her babies, she loved red roses, attending church, and speaking the good word about her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She made an impact on many lives.
She was a great listener and mentor. The best shoulder to cry on. Without judgment, Minnie was always there to listen to those who needed it. She cared deeply for the people around her. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She received everyone with open arms, kindness, and love. She offered this generosity to all, regardless of whether she knew them well. Carmen was an example to follow.
Although she is gone, her cherished memory will live on through her family. She will forever be in our hearts and memories. Grandma Carmen is loved and missed.
