Maria Elena (Nena) Martinez, 68, of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2016 surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters Valerie Martinez, Jennifer Perkins, Elizabeth Oropeza, Cynthia Coronado, Sandra Rodriguez and 8 grandchildren. She is a graduate of Jefferson High School and EPCC. Nena dedicated much of her life to taking care of others. She began by offering social services to the elderly at the Rio Vista Community Center in Socorro. She then ventured off to First Presbyterian Church where she cared for day care age children. Upon retiring from the workforce she dedicated her life to help care for her grandchildren. Nena will always be remembered for her loving heart and her selfless generosity. Visitation: June 6, 2016 9:00AM-12:30PM at Hillcrest Funeral Homes on 1060 N. Carolina Drive.
