I’ve always remembered Mrs. Rayon as the one educator who shaped my entire life. She was my sixth grade teacher and during that year I learned everything I needed to shape me through life! How? She taught us our name, student number and social security number! This might be controversial, however I now see adults who don’t know any of this information. Mrs. Rayon was the first person who taught me life was not fair. That I had to work hard and even then, I had to cope with its results. Mrs. Rayon was supposed to retire the year she was my teacher, and didn’t after the fall semester. I remember her saying that she had asked the virgen Mary for a sign and if a student took her a yellow rose she wouldn’t. I am that student who in central El Paso could only find a yellow rose. With this act she not only taught humility, love and compassion but also faith. Mrs. Rayon, thank you. Love you, Miguel Escobedo, now a director for the Leander Independent School District.

You have always been in our hearts and memories. You were always my favorite teacher. You made such an impact to all my fellow students and myself.  Always thought about you constantly. You taught so many positive things that eventually paid off in life. Thank you my beautiful teacher. I know God has a very special place in heaven waiting just for you.  Always in our hearts. We love Mrs. Rayon.  RIP!!

She was the best teacher I ever had. She was soo strict but caring at the same time.. My fondest memory of Mrs. Rayon, was when she encouraged me to join the 6th grade spelling bee in El Paso, I didn't win but got 3rd place and she gave me the best hug after..it showed me my potential. Diana, I am so sorry I missed your mom's funeral! I just found out she passed away. I prayer for her as fervently as within my power. She gave me the Divine Mercy, and I will always be grateful for it.  I owe her much of my deep spiritual life, and how to let things not bother me as a teacher.  She's with Jesus, and I hope to see you again, dear Mary!  Please pray for me too!  I still have all your letters with their beautiful handwriting.  Love, Brenda

Stil as beautiful as ever. I had the pleasure of teaching with Mary at Beall for about 5 years. We all had a lot of fun in the lunchroom and whenever we all got together - she was a real character. She was a dedicated, guiding force for her students. She was blessed to live a long and fruitful life She will be missed.

May she rest in peace! I was very lucky to have her as my teacher. She inspired me to explore beyond my day-to-day surroundings and she (along with Ms. Flores) is the one who planted the seed of going to college in my mind. She taught her students discipline, respect, and dedication. She truly made an impact on her students' lives.

My sister, Janet ,and I both had the great priviledge of being in Mrs. Rayons 6th grade class at Beall School. My Aunt Celia and Uncle Ruben went to school with her so we had a great family respect for her within different generations in our home. She was the best teacher we ever had, and she still lives on in our hearts and memories. She insprired us and taught us to go into a world that we could experience without fear or apprehension. She prepared us with formal manners, proper english, staples for a world of experiences at our finger tips. And just like she taught us, we went into the world now I am a CFO for a major record company, my sister an accomplished dancer/artist, and we remember her every day as the spark that got it all started for us.

Everything your loved one was.. Kind, Honest ,Caring, Wise, Thoughtful, Loving.. Lives on in the hearts of the Friends and Family who will never forget Her.

So Sorry for your Loss.

I'll always remember Mrs. Rayon for being the person that started me thinking about planning, outcomes, and consequences...all this in the 6th grade. She also got me very interested in history.  May she go to her rest knowing she helped so many of us prepare for our life ahead.

I remember many days after school walking right to the house on Bobalink and playing and most times being invited for dinner and then a ride home with Daddy in the old white Chevy NOVA :)

My deepest condolences to "Miss" Rayon's family, friends, former students and all who mourn her passing. I was a student of wonderful Miss Rayon at Beall Elementary, 6A  to be specific--perhaps when she began teaching. Miss Rayon was a life-changer, a rare-breed of teachers who exact sound values, belief in oneself, and a will to try and be fabulous. Miss Rayon's positive imprint on me was timely---I could have gone any direction in an environment that forgot/dismissed and excluded so many of us. Thanks to Miss Rayon, who constantly validated us, I learned that I could and had a right to try almost anything. Oh how I valued her. Miss Rayon will continue to live-on in what, where, when & to whom she taught. I have tried to pass that magic to others but have come short compared to Miss Rayon. I wish I had seen her again in our older years.

Farewell, my dear Aunt Mary, Thank you for the many kindnesses that you shared with me as I was growing up. The world was a richer place with you in it. Your loving nephew, JR

Prayers and blessings to Mary Rayon and family. She was an unforgettable teacher for me in the 6th grade at Beall School. She sent us a Xmas card every year. She will truly be missed. God bless her.

My condolences and prayers to the Rayon family. Mrs. Rayon was my 6th grade teacher at Beall school and also to my brother Ed and sister Irma. I consider her the best teacher ever. Will never forget her attending my sons championship game, sitting next to Mr. H.R. Moye and told me she was there because it was my son playing. Wow! Rest in Peace!

Poli and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Chata.  Poli's only sister is in heaven but will be so missed here on earth.
