Maria is survived by her Children Fernando Villareal, Nuvia Luna Castro, Mireya Tovar, Cristina Harrington, and Esther Herrera; and her siblings brother William Santillan and her sister Elsa Challice. Maria also leaves 11 Grandchildren to cherish her memories.
Maria was preceded in death by her son Hector Castro.

A vigil service will occur Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79936. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 11:30 AM at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 10970 Bywood Dr, El Paso, Texas 79936. A graveside service will occur Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 East Montana, El Paso, Texas 79938.
